Oak Park Office – Construction & Traffic Update
Beginning January 21, the Village of Oak Park will start construction on Oak Park Avenue. Traffic detours and delays are expected and may continue through the summer months.
If you have an in‑person appointment at our Oak Park office, please plan to allow a little extra travel time so you can arrive punctually. We appreciate your patience during this period, and we understand there may be occasional delays as everyone adjusts during the first week of construction.
For ongoing updates about the project, you can visit: https://www.renewtheavenue.com
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Have you ever felt stuck in the same problematic cycle with your family, significant other(s), or even yourself?
Have you ever struggled to transform unwanted thoughts, feelings, or actions into something brand new?
If so, just know you’re not alone.
You’ve already done the hard part: acknowledging life’s difficulties and seeking additional support. I’d be honored to continue to support you along your journey towards positive change.
As a systemic therapist, I recognize the importance of each client’s unique social context for problem-solving. More specifically, I take into account clients’ race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion/spirituality, ability, etc. during treatment. Whether working with couples, families, or individuals, I pay special attention to relationships and the role you play within them.
I prioritize empathetic, client-centered care where we can collaborate to achieve your therapeutic goals. I also integrate multiple different models into my practice, including but not limited to CBT, EFT, IFS, ACT, and Narrative Therapy.
With my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of couples, families, and individuals over the course of two years. Now, with my Associate’s License for Marriage and Family Therapy, I look forward to continuing this rewarding work.
Please reach out to me if interested in booking a session. Thank you!

If you’re struggling to cope with past traumas, I can help you identify how this is showing up in your present and offer the tools that will create the path to your desired future. Trauma impedes our natural ability as humans to be able to identify and reach goals, and connect and form relationships with others. I believe with a positive therapeutic relationship and guidance to rediscovering the inner knowing you possess about what you truly need to thrive. My approach to therapy is what allows for others to connect with me- I am laid-back, direct, funny, caring, & most importantly I create a non-judgement environmental space! As a relational psychotherapist, I use a strengths-based and relational approach to identify the emotional and behavioral change that you want to see within your life. Change isn’t immediate, but together we will be able to work through those moments of feeling stuck and address the root of the problems that hinder you. I am aware of the ways that loss can either bring us together, or pull us apart and in therapy with me, you will learn how to work as a team to heal your wounds. I work virtually, but am still able to engage with the kids, individuals, couples and families.

Has something changed about your sexuality or sex life, and you’re afraid that you will lose your current partner(s) or community because of the ways you are changing? Do you feel confused about how to stay together, when the foundations of your bond seem gone? I am here as your therapist to help you co-create the new relationship dynamic you want. Just because your relationship looks different now, doesn’t mean the connection and love is gone.
I am passionate about sex positivity and working to unlearn shame and embarrassment that may be ingrained from past experiences. I aim to facilitate open communication between couples to ensure both parties are getting their needs met. When working with individual clients, I can help guide you in advocating for what you need in your relationships with others. When dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, desire discrepancy, exploring sexuality, and emerging kink interests, things can feel isolating, but I will serve as your guide on this journey of rediscovering your Self.
My approach is grounded in narrative therapy. I want to help re-write the stories we tell about ourselves or our partners. We will discover the barriers to this, and challenge whether they are real or a narrative constructed in your head. Once we understand this, we can break down the barriers together, and some of them may fall away all on their own. I believe in recognizing societal privileges and hindrances and working within those intersections to realistically move towards self-improvement in a way that is right for you. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and specialize in working with queer individuals and couples. I am kink, poly, and sex-worker affirming.

As a sex and couple therapist, I believe that all problems are relational- one of you is not “the problem”- your patterns of relating to one another that have become twisted with hurt and resentment over time are the problem. My style of conducting therapy is validating, structured, goal-oriented, observational and direct, with an element of coaching through in-session interventions and homework to complete outside of our meetings.
I am skilled in working with more than one person in the room. My goal is to get you and your partner(s) to speak to each other differently in session, and bring that learning outside of our one hour a week and into your real life. I specialize in couples with sexual dysfunction, communication difficulties, trust issues, trauma history, anxiety, and socialized gender-based disagreements. I am LGBTQIA+, sex-worker, kink and polyamory affirming.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (in IL, WI and FL) trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, the founder of Grace Therapy and Wellness Center, and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Mentor. I am working on my PhD in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University. I received my Sex Therapy Certificate in 2024 and am completing hours to be certified by AASECT.
I recognize that taking the step to reach out to a therapist is a great leap towards change, and also one of the hardest things to do. I try to make this go as smoothly as possible by responding promptly, answering any questions you may have, and scheduling a session within two weeks of you reaching out.

One of my favorite quotes is, “The absence of illness is not wellness.” It serves as a reminder that feeling better is about more than healing from the past or managing difficult emotions. Wellness is an active, intentional process that requires commitment, self-reflection, and care. What practices are we putting in place to sustain our well-being? Are we moving toward something meaningful, or simply away from discomfort? And perhaps most importantly, do we have the grace and self-compassion needed to support ourselves along the way?
My goal is to help individuals and couples move beyond simply coping and toward a more fulfilling, authentic life. Through deep listening, collaboration, goal setting, and a strengths-based approach, I strive to empower my clients to become the best versions of themselves.
Our relationships are central to our overall well-being, which is why connection is a key focus of my work—even in individual therapy. I am especially passionate about couples therapy and have a particular interest in supporting those navigating the challenges of IVF, a journey my wife and I know firsthand. I am also developing a Friends Therapy program designed to foster deeper connections with our peers while helping us better understand ourselves and the role relationships play in our growth.
Therapy can be more than a place where we go to stay afloat. It can be a space where we cultivate wellness, deepen our relationships, and pursue self-actualization. I look forward to hearing your story, walking alongside you on your journey, and celebrating your successes along the way.

“Welcome, Bienvenido! Are you struggling with finding a sex positive, kink, sex worker, & poly-affirming therapist? Do you struggle with just taking about sex and do not know where to start?”
As a relationship and sex therapist, I create a collaborative and compassionate space where you can safely explore complex topics at your own pace. Whether you’re navigating challenges related to intimacy, infidelity, communication, anxiety, depression, or family dynamics, I aim to help you uncover deeper insights, cultivate resilience, and move toward meaningful growth—on your terms.
I believe deeply in your autonomy and lived experience. Rather than giving one-size-fits-all advice, I work alongside you to co-create solutions that align with your values, identity, and goals. Our work together is grounded in curiosity, accountability, and empowerment.
In therapy, I strive to build a brave space—not just a safe one—where all emotions, questions, and parts of your identity are welcome. I especially enjoy supporting neurodivergent couples navigating intimacy and communication barriers, BIPOC individuals and couples facing sexual health and identity concerns, members of the Latinx/Hispanic community, and addressing culturally-informed experiences around sexuality, family, and self-worth.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Sex Therapy from Adler University. My clinical focus includes Sexuality and intimacy, relationship repair and reconnection, identity exploration, communication challenges, and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression.
As a bilingual, Colombian-born therapist, I offer sessions in both English and Spanish—centered on the language and cultural nuances that feel most authentic to you. I am passionate about integrating culture, identity, and advocacy into the therapeutic process, and I believe healing and growth are most powerful when all of who you are is seen and valued. I am currently under the supervision of Kristen Lilla, LCSW, CST-S, CSE-S.

Do you feel like you’re trying to stay connected to yourself or others, but keep getting caught in patterns that leave you feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or alone?
I don’t believe our struggles happen in a vacuum. Our relationships, families, culture, and life experiences all shape how we see ourselves and how we show up with one another. When we slow down and look at these patterns, we can start to understand not just why we’re struggling, but how to actually shift things.
As an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating changes in their relationships, their sense of self, or their circumstances. Maybe you’re having a hard time communicating with a partner, feeling distant from someone you love, or noticing the same conflict come up again and again. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, or a big life transition, starting adulthood, changing careers, divorce, becoming a parent. Or maybe you’re navigating family conflict or a shifting relationship with a child, sibling, or parent. Whatever brings you in, I want to help you slow down, understand what’s really going on underneath, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, and I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems–tailoring the work to you rather than fitting you into one model. As a Latina therapist, I’m especially passionate about working with BIPOC clients, and I understand firsthand how culture, family expectations, and identity can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. I also offer sessions in Spanish and welcome Spanish-speaking individuals, couples, and families.
More than anything, I want therapy to feel like a place where you’re genuinely heard, where you can be honest, even messy, and know you’re not being judged. Together, we’ll build on the strengths you already have, get curious about the patterns that feel stuck, and work toward real, lasting connection, with yourself and the people who matter most to you.
